About the event
Aces, Aros, A-Specs, and Allies! Come march with us in the Calgary Pride Parade!
Please use the RSVP button on this page if you're interested in marching, so that we have an idea of our numbers! If you RSVP, we'll also send you an email the day before with any updates, and provide contact info in case you need help finding us on parade day.
Feel free to dress up, bring a flag, or make a sign! Wear your favourite greens and purples! We will have a few spare ace/aro flags to share, as well as some small decorations, like ribbons & face paint. If you'd like to borrow a green/purple t-shirt, email us in advance and we can bring one for you.
Other important things you should bring: water bottle, snacks (if desired), weather-appropriate gear (sunscreen, raincoat, etc.). We will have a wagon, but recommend being prepared to carry your own belongings as there may not be enough space in the wagon for everyone.
Location: The Confluence (formerly Fort Calgary), on the west side of the park along 6th St SE. We are #49 which is directly west of The Confluence parking lot. See page 5 of the staging map for our location.
Time: Our marching leads plan to start assembling at 9:30 AM to check in and hold our spot in the parade. You're welcome to join us any time between 9:30-10:30 AM. Please arrive by 10:30 at the latest.
Parade Route: Starts at The Confluence, goes west down 9th Ave past the Calgary Tower, and ends at 5th St SW. (If you marched with us last year, this is the opposite of last year's parade route.)

Extra Notes:
- If you plan to take Calgary Transit, please check the transit website in advance as there are train station closures & bus detours in effect. https://www.calgarytransit.com/content/transit/en/home/service-updates.html
- The Confluence shops will be open and have washrooms available if needed prior to marching.
- Assembling for the parade and then marching can take 2-3 hours. You're welcome to bring a chair, mobility aid, etc. as long as you have a place to store it or bring it with you during the parade (we can't leave anything behind at the staging area).
- If you have concerns about doing the full route, it may be possible to march part-way and then split off to join our observer's group, who will be stationed along the parade route.
This is an open event which means that everyone is welcome to attend, whether you’re a-spec yourself, questioning/unlabelled, or an ally who wants to celebrate Pride with us. Let us know if you have any questions (email: ABAcesandAros@gmail.com).
